EVENT REPORT | Creation as a new territory for Innovation, with Courrèges designers at TRAFFIC

A few months ago, French Ready-to-Wear Federation organised its second edition of TRAFFIC, a fair dedicated to fashion services. During two days, the show gathered 80 exhibitors, 50 workshops and 10 forecasting conferences on the theme of Innovation. We particularly enjoyed the talk on Creation as a new territory for Innovation, which you can hear – in French – here, or read, in our report below (in English and French :-)).

Google’s We Wear Culture, a series of exhibitions to showcase the history & future of fashion

Back when I was working in the advertising industry, I had the chance to visit Google Paris’ headquarters, for the launch of their Cultural Institute (which is now called Google Arts & Culture). As one of the many successful results of Google’s famous “20 percent of time” policy (where Google gives the opportunity to its collaborators to develop side projects), Google Arts & Culture partnered with over 1,300 museums and foundations to digitise artworks, making them accessible on the Google Arts & Culture platform. Now, they are launching the fashion part of this initiative, with over 3,000 digitalised fashion archives. We visited the Paris exhibition yesterday.

#Hyères32 | Fashion’s call for Democracy, the rise of tech & Clara Daguin’s new collection

The 32nd edition of Hyères’ International Fashion & Photography Festival took place in the South of France last week-end. The festival, directed by JeanPierre Blanc and presided over by Didier Grumbach, annually encourages and supports young artists in the fields of fashion and photography. I was invited, alongside Matthias Ganem from TechTera, by the French Couture Federation to summarise two talks about FashionTech and Blockchain applied to Intellectual Property. We also spent some time with fashion designer Clara Daguin, who was presenting her new collection as part of the Formers section – showcasing the finalists from previous years’ editions.

Here’s a global recap from our experience at SXSW, which — just like last year — was such a great opportunity to listen to inspirational talks and connect with brilliant minds from all around the world.

EVENT | Première Vision’s Wearable Lab Conference Recap: FashionTech, Future Scene or Utopia?

Première Vision, the global materials & services sourcing fair, unites fashion insiders twice a year for 3 days in Paris. The fair launched its Wearable Lab during last edition earlier this month. Who’s Next 2017 | Having fun with our fav young designers’ pieces

Last week, our team had the opportunity to go to the thrilling Who’s Next x Premiere Classe tradeshow, where once again amazing pieces were gathered in a huge space dedicated to fashion. This time, it was all about GIRLSQUAD, and frankly we had a blast. Between creative workshops, interesting conferences (among which our founder’s animated one, on user experience in retail) and of course a large selection of apparels and accessories, we just did not know where to start. However, we were able to clear our heads when we had the opportunity – thanks to the kindness of the designers who let us wear these – to pick and wear some of our favorite pieces, shot by Florie Berger.

Fashion & television : A Crossed History

Despite the rise of new media, television still remains the reference medium, especially for the fashion industry. It reaches a wide audience while it conveys a strong image. The history of fashion and television are closely linked, as explained during a conference we attended, given by Maude Bass-Krueger and Sophie Kurdjian, heads of #Semmode at the IHTP/CNRS on December 15th.

EVENT | Who’s Next 2017: Girls, bring on your squad

The very popular fair Who’s Next will be back in Paris from the 20th to the 23rd of January. At its core, a very current theme: girl squad. “Girl power”, “girls band”, “girls squad” … are trendy notions that Who’s Next and Premiere Classe will try to decode and bring to light through creators, installations, activities always more accurate.

This 23rd January, our founder Noemie Balmat will have the pleasure to animate a panel talk on the future of retail, with French Retailer Citadium’s Director, Sophie Bocquet.
