From March 10th to 14, Allan Joseph (Clausette.cc’s co-founder) and I had the pleasure to attend SXSW 2017 as official Advisory Board Jury for the Interactive Innovation Awards. 5 days of intensive networking, conferences & panel talks attending, which I documented day by day on Facebook. Here’s a global recap from our experience at SXSW, which — just like last year — was such a great opportunity to listen to inspirational talks and connect with brilliant minds from all around the world.
Austin, Texas – We just landed in Austin for SXSW 2017, where I will be speaking at a panel today (don’t miss it if you’re here!), and we – Allan, Val and I – will be joining the advisory board jury for SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards.
We just got some more information about the Google Jacquard x Levi’s events, just for you ;-)
Première Vision, the global materials & services sourcing fair, unites fashion insiders twice a year for 3 days in Paris. The fair launched its Wearable Lab during last edition earlier this month. An exhibition with FashionTech’s best experimental pieces, a startup corner and a panel talk on the future of wearable tech, that I had the pleasure to animate, along with impressive speakers: Christine Browaeys, Hilary McGuinness, Anouk Wipprecht, Nelly Rodi and Pascal Denizart.
Last week, our team had the opportunity to go to the thrilling Who’s Next x Premiere Classe tradeshow, where once again amazing pieces were gathered in a huge space dedicated to fashion. This time, it was all about GIRLSQUAD, and frankly we had a blast. Between creative workshops, interesting conferences (among which our founder’s animated one, on user experience in retail) and of course a large selection of apparels and accessories, we just did not know where to start. However, we were able to clear our heads when we had the opportunity – thanks to the kindness of the designers who let us wear these – to pick and wear some of our favorite pieces, shot by Florie Berger.
Despite the rise of new media, television still remains the reference medium, especially for the fashion industry. It reaches a wide audience while it conveys a strong image. The history of fashion and television are closely linked, as explained during a conference we attended, given by Maude Bass-Krueger and Sophie Kurdjian, heads of #Semmode at the IHTP/CNRS on December 15th.
The very popular fair Who’s Next will be back in Paris from the 20th to the 23rd of January. At its core, a very current theme: girl squad. “Girl power”, “girls band”, “girls squad” … are trendy notions that Who’s Next and Premiere Classe will try to decode and bring to light through creators, installations, activities always more accurate.
This 23rd January, our founder Noemie Balmat will have the pleasure to animate a panel talk on the future of retail, with French Retailer Citadium’s Director, Sophie Bocquet.
On Friday & Saturday, Vogue France organised a 2-days conference & masterclass event, exploring on the past, present and future of fashion. Located at Paris Chamber of Commerce Palais Potocki, the event welcomed key players of the Fashion Industry: Loïc Prigent, Olivier Rousteing, Isabel Marant, Suzan Saideman from Amazon Fashion, Jonathan Anderson… An interesting, insightful, sometimes intimate event! We gathered the most insightful quotes here for you, happy reading!
For its fourth edition, Paris’ Fashion Tech Week gathers the most innovative initiatives in fashion: from 6th to 13th October, several places in Paris will welcome conferences, panel talks, meetings and a FashionTech exhibition to close the week.
The Clausette team is very excited to announce two events within this week: a panel talk on how technology can help fashion being more transparent on October 10th at NUMA Paris, & a keynote on Fashion Creative Technology on October 12th at NUMA Paris.
Organized by Annick Jehanne, founder of the fashion dedicated MOOC Hubmode, the second edition of Fashion Tech Days will take place from the 29th to the 30th of September, in the CETI (European Center for Innovative Textiles) of Roubaix. The gathering focuses on the future of the textile field with a central theme that epitomizes the research: Interactions – What will be the relations between clothing, human and machines?
From September 12th to 15th, the Avantex tradeshow is taking place in Paris. Created in 2015 by Messe Frankfurt, the purpose of this event is to present high tech fabrics and the current researches in this field that are shaping the future of fashion.
