Austin, Texas – We just landed in Austin for SXSW 2017, where I will be speaking at a panel today (don’t miss it if you’re here!), and we – Allan, Val and I – will be joining the advisory board jury for SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards.
We just got some more information about the Google Jacquard x Levi’s events, just for you ;-)
The tech giant and denim brand will be hosting three different events during SXSW:
- SAT MARCH 11, 11AM – Panel Talk “Beyond the Screens: the Ubiquity of Connectivity”
Our digital lives are on the edge of another radical shift; new forms of technology are decoupling digital functionality from consumer electronics. Connectivity and digital interaction are being integrated into those familiar objects that already populate our lives – clothing, furniture, cars, buildings – creating the opportunity for seamless, discrete interactions that reduce our reliance on any single device.
Google ATAP Technical Project Lead Ivan Poupyrev and Levi’s VP of Innovation Paul Dillinger will talk about moving beyond smart gadgets to a future when our entire world is intelligent and interactive using the Project Jacquard platform.
First example of what’s possible: the Levi’s® Commuter™ x Jacquard by Google Trucker Jacket.
- SAT-SUN MARCH 11-18, 10AM – 5PM – Levi’s Outpost
Different workshops will be hosted by Levi’s, featuring Houston-based printmaker, Carlos Hernandez, in a hands-on workshop of his Mexican punk-style silk screening to customize your Levi’s® trucker or favorite festival apparel in the Tailor Shop; or a live ice dyeing demonstrations with Austin-based artist Vanessa Crook. Pre-dyed fabric will also be available for guests to create custom patches for their Levi’s® apparel.
- SAT MARCH 11, 7:30PM – Levi’s x Google Jacquard Party
To celebrate the Levi’s® Commuter™ Trucker Jacket, Levi’s®, in partnership with Google and Rolling Stone, the party will celebrate the intersection of music & innovation with style.
